This is the story of Kel, a 16 year old boy from New Jersey.  He is gay, and it is only known to selective group of people.

 

     Thoroughout the story, Kel explores being a teenager, trying to gain acceptance despite the problems he faces.  He looks for strength in a select group of people.

 

      During the series, I will be adding supplementary entries from other characters.  The numbers on their stories will not be in numerical order.  This is because I will be numbering their tales by the corresponding number to Kel's entries.  Every character will have a first entry, which will be their thorough introduction in the first person.

 

Here are the main characters so far:

 

Kel Hutchinson:  Kel is a reserved but kind kid who doesn't feel the need to have others hurt just because of what they are.  He's the narrator of the main plot of the story and this series explores his life.

 

Sarah Hutchinson:  Sarah is Kel's older sister.  Fully trusting of his sister, she was the first person to find out about his sexuality.  Totally loving of her brother, she goes out of her way to be a supportive sister.  But will her kind ways come back to hurt her?

 

Drew Turner:  Drew is Kel's lifelong best friend.  All though intially shocked by his friend's admission, he still accepts his 'partner in crime.'  Drew gets through a lot of situations that he feels are uncomfortable by joking around.  Is he really accepting of Kel, or is it a facade?

 

Dave Andrade:  Intially starting as a kid in Kel's camp group, Dave comes into Kel's life after the tragic death of Dave's father.  Dave finds Kel to be a great older brother and a person he can trust. 

 

Billie Morrow:  The new kid in town meets Kel while running in the park.  She is a sweet girl still coming to grips with her mother's death many years ago.  She soon becomes great friends with Kel.  She even admits to a mild crush on him.  But what will happen once the truth is known?

 

Mark Spencer:  A kid with a difficult past, Mark has little ability to trust anyone.  Kel wants to reach out to Mark.  How will Mark react to it?
